Every child is different, some seem eternally healthy and strong, others need medical treatment for various reasons .

HEALTH CARE     Although fees mount up, we have been very fortunate that some doctors offer our children reduced fees, in some cases charging only for the medicines. And for some more complicated dental treatment, Juliette's own private dental practitioner has kindly offered a very generous discount for her services.

We have also been fortunate enough that some skilled foreign medical practitioners have visited to give check ups, advice and in some cases treatment.

In addition to this we also have supporters, particularly a small group of caravan enthusiasts in New Zealand,  called the Movanners, who have helped us set up a Medical Fund for emergencies.

We try to give the children a healthy diet, and we are therefore grateful to Don Manning and his Planet of Kids for regular sponsorship to buy fruit supplies.

Prices change dramatically throughout the year, but we always make the most of the money by purchasing what's in season and everything is devoured eagerly by the children. Now that we have more land available and are growing our own produce we are hoping that our bills for the actual purchase of fresh foods will be significantly reduced.

Like children all over the world, many of them have high hopes as to what they will achieve in adulthood, but a few months ago there was a sudden change of heart in three of the boys, one of whom wanted to be a scientist, the others engineers. All of them were now seriously considering being artists instead. This change of heart was, I think, because they had a new art teacher at senior school and they enjoyed his lessons.

We must therefore keep all their options open, whilst being realistic. When there is a chance for them to learn practical skills, Dibya is always willing to show them how to do things that may be useful for them in the years ahead.

Here they have been watching the oxen plough the fields and they are now helping to prepare the land so that vegetables can be planted.
